Merry Christmas

Cash on Christmas Eve in his Christmas jammies.

Cash and his cousins Hayes, Chansy, Kalon, and Dally in their new Sunday clothes they got from their grandma for Christmas.

Cash and his grandpa Stuart out looking at the Horses.

This year we had a really nice Christmas. We spent Christmas down in Woodruff Utah with Jared's family. Cash had a lot of fun and spoiling from his grandparents and aunts :) And I was able to get a bit of a break, which was really nice. On Christmas day his cousins came up from Fountain Green Utah and he really enjoyed playing with them. I would have to say one of the things he enjoyed most though was going out with his dad and grandpa seeing the horses and doing the chores. When they would bring him inside even though it was freezing he still wanted to go back out immediately. Jared also really enjoyed all this and the time he was able to spend with all of his family. As for me it was also really nice, lucky for me Jared has a family of 4 sisters and we always have a lot of fun when we get together, I am so lucky to have such good in-laws :) So overall Christmas was really fun for us all, and we always look forward to the next time we get to spend with our families.

Christmas Tree

This weekend we got our Christmas tree up and I have to say it was a little hard for me. I had to give in and get a a fake one :( We normally would get a real one but because of lack of transportation options to get the tree to the apartment, the one in the box at Wal-mart was the right size. It actually turned out real pretty and Cash had a really good time helping Dad put it together, so it will do for this year.... but next year a I look forward to a real wonderful smelling Christmas tree :)

Many New and Exciting Changes ...

So a lot has happened in our family in these last few months. First of all we are so excited to be expecting our second child in Early march who happens to be another little boy! I am sure we will have our hands full with two boys, but were so happy for Cash to get a little brother and friend :)
Second major event in our life is Jared just got a new job in Boise Idaho working for the Idaho State Department of Agriculture. So we have recently moved west and so far are enjoying our experience. We feel so blessed by the changes taking place in our lives; were excited for the new opportunities Jared and our family will be blessed with with his new job, and are in great anticipation for the arrival of our new family member in a few months!

Halloween 2010

This year Cash was Frodo Baggins the hobbit for Halloween. My mom who is always saving me with her sewing skills made him his own little cloak and vest. I might just be a Lord of the Rings nerd, but I thought it turned out pretty cute :)

Cash's 2 year old pics

Here are a few of the pictures my very talented friend and cousin Jessica Steveson took for us of Cash in October shortly after he turned 2. We are so happy to have this crazy little guy in our family, there is not a day that goes by that he doesn't make us laugh.

Gone Fishing

This weekend in Idaho it was Free Fishing day on Saturday. So Jared, Cash, my sister Cydnie, my brother-in-law Shane, and I took a trip up towards Ashton to try it out. The boys including Cash were all pretty serious about it while Cyd and I mostly watched, oh and kept Cash from going in with his bare hands to fish. Although we had no luck catching anything we had a lot fun :)

Cash cracking up!

This was on Easter and it was so cute. Uncle Shane was making Cash Laugh so hard he was falling over :)

It's been awhile...

Picture: Cash after destroying his peanut butter and jelly sandwich :)

It has been a long time since I posted anything. I don't have any real excuses other than life has been keeping us pretty busy :) Especially our little Cash. I thought I had my hands full with him before but the more he becomes a little boy and not so much a baby things just get more and more exciting.
He is 19 months now and also just getting started in nursery. While Jared has been counting the months down for this time, for me it has been bitter sweet. The first week we left him in nursery was very nerve wracking for us not for fear of Cash being sad or hurt, but instead fear for the leaders and how they would handle him. Our fears were confirmed when i came to pick him up and they hurried him out the door and let me know that " he is a bit aggressive but they were dealing with it." I can proudly say though he is improving and I'm sure it is partly due to the amazing patience our sweet nursery leaders have. :)
Cash is boy through and through. He loves wrestling with his dad, playing outside, knocking over his blocks, and all animals especially horses. He is such a joy in our lives and not a day goes by that he doesn't make me laugh.

Cash Sweet as a Lamb ...

I know it has taking me awhile to post anything since Christmas but better late then never right? This year we spent Christmas up in Washington with my family and it was so much fun. One tradition we started this year was doing a nativity with all the grand kids. My mom, whose sewing abilities seem to be endless, helped make outfits for all the kids parts. The nativity included Mary and Joseph ( Sam and Livvy) the 2 oldest grand kids, an angel (Laney), three wisemen (Jessie, Casey, and Gabe), a sheperd (Dezmond), and last but not least a lamb (Cash); oh yeah and a doll played the most important part of baby Jesus. These pictures were when we tried the outfit on Cash for the first time and it was obviously very tiring :) Anyway it all turned out really cute while the little kids atempted to hold still for the nativity us adults sang away in a manger on Christmas eve for our big Dickson Family Party. I hope we continue to do this tradition because it turned out so cute and got the little kids excited about the story of the first Christmas. Although as years go by we will probably have a whole herd of sheep and maybe more than three wisemen :)
